The desktop reader is connected to a PC via its USB interface. Windows automatically recognises and installs the device and it is ready for use in a few minutes. With appropriate software tools the desktop reader can be used to write MIFARE security keys to security cards or transfer them from security cards to the terminals the company has installed for time registration or access control.
There is also a tool available which can be used to read LEGIC data or write them to media for forwarding to an application for interpretation. This makes the desktop reader an important link for access solutions, issuing temporary access rights and for integration into canteen or SFDC systems.
