Patented high-precision undercut (branch groove) for better protection against illegal key duplication
pextra Q keys are designed with a patented undercut profile groove. This is called a branch groove and can only be produced using special machines and a complex milling process. The optional active element in the lock cylinder checks whether this branch groove is present and blocks the barrel if an attempt has been made to use an illegal duplicate key. 

Multi-layer protection as standard
Vertical pin pairs and horizontal locking elements check the robust nickel silver key and allow the barrel to turn when the shear line is reached.The centering pin protects the lock cylinder against lock bumping.The overlapping key profile and special tumbler pins protect the lock against being picked.Hardened steel elements in the barrel and in the housing make it difficult to drill or pull the lock cylinder.Every key is coded using the new serial number range system, meaning that each one is unique. The code can be used to assign the key to precisely the appropriate cylinder.

pextra Q can be used with all types of serial keying and master key systems – from one-key-fits-all solutions for homes to large, complex systems with different levels of access permission. The basis is a key plan, according to which selected keys can open a series of specific doors. To design the key plan, we examine and evaluate our
customers’ requirements in detail. This means
better control, saving costs incurred by duplicate keys and reducing the total number of keys.

Free choice of lock cylinders
Our range of lock cylinders covers a wide selection of different types for all kinds of applications. The lock cylinders, cylinders for cabinet locks, padlocks, key switch cylinders and lift controls can be organised into a master key system. When design meets mechanics, it’s time for our surface finishes to shine. Nickel-plated and matt brass are our standard finishes. Further matt, brushed or polished surfaces and a range of different colours give your locking cylinders an individual touch, either letting them blend into your door unobtrusively or stand out as eye-catching features.

A variety of key styles and colours for clear identification
We have redesigned our tried-and-tested serrated keys. The new and optional mini clip can now be cleverly integrated into the bow. Ergonomic opening and visual aid in one – thanks to mini clips in six different colours.
As usual, your further options include the TrendKey, metal bow keys or keys with RFID transponder clips for integration into electronic access control systems.
