Requirement

Large passageways between connected rooms must also comply with the normative fire protection requirements. To create a wide passageway, the doors should be wide open. A closing sequence control must prevent mechanical tilting. When closed, the doors must be easy to open.

Solution

Implemented by the TS 98 XEA GSR-EMR door closer: a self-closing mechanism for fire doors with integrated smoke detection control panel.

Requirement

Smoke protection sections are intended to prevent smoke from spreading throughout the building and thus endangering people. For this purpose, it is necessary that the door closes reliably, but can be opened manually to allow people to escape. In case of fire, the integrated smoke detector registers the danger, and the door closes automatically.

Solution

The automatic swing door operator ED 100/ED 250 for single and double-leaf swing doors with integrated smoke detector ensures automatic and thus convenient opening of the door; in the case of fire, this self-closing fire door closes automatically to prevent smoke distribution in the building.

Requirement

To guarantee structural fire protection, fire and smoke protection doors must be designed to be self-closing and in an emergency, they must withstand the highest loads and temperatures.

In addition, in case of danger, it must also be possible to quickly exit locked doors in escape and rescue routes at any time. Insurers, police and emergency operators also demand that doors be locked as securely as possible against misuse and burglary.

Solution

Fire door components such as overhead door closers, floor springs and swing door operators can ensure reliable closing. Without a hold-open, they cause the door to close again automatically after it has been walked through.

Hold-open systems suspend the function of a locking device in a controlled manner, and reliably close permanently open doors in the case of fire.

In order to ensure accessibility and fire protection at the same time, a combination of different components such as hold-open systems, free swing door closers or swing door operators is required depending on the user (elderly, physically impaired or disabled people).

For the most barrier-free access possible, there are also overhead door closers with a steeply falling opening moment, which are tested on smoke and fire doors and approved for this purpose.
